RE: Global Agenda
One thing that i think will be the hardest task for global agenda is to make the network smooth so that ppl dont suffer lagg based on low ms, specially too populated areas.
I can tolerate higher ms-rates in non-fps MMOs, but if i play an FPS-game i NEED to have as low ms as possible(preferably sub-zero ;p).

RE: Global Agenda
It's always a big question however all the actual fighty bits in Global Agenda happen wow-battleground type areas with a max of 10v10, so you'll never have alb lag grenades heralding the zerg at least. Smile

RE: Global Agenda
This weekend/middle of next I think.

Yes and no. There is a Guild Wars style thing for the basic content (ie pay for the box/account but no subscription) which lets you do some of the pve and random pvp missions and there is a subscription (£7.99 for 1 month, usual discounts on more) which opens up the inter-agency conquest RVR thing.

I hate to admit it, but reading through their FAQ I'm actually quite intrigued...I might have to give this a shot

RE: Global Agenda
I've enjoyed the Beta tbh. It's the first game in a long time that i've been able to play a loner/stealther character when I want and then a group friendly toon when needed as well.

Not that the Recon (stealther) class isn't useful to a group (unlike DAOC for example).

RE: Global Agenda
What are the classes like in practice - do you need particular bases covered to be effective or can you make things work with pretty much any combo if everyone knows what's going on?
No idea what to try first.

Medic sounds handy healing is never bad and poisoning the other side usually isn't either...unless your side die cos of no heals.
Assault....scifi+big guns+big armour.
Recon bombs just sound hilarious.
Robotics. Err pet class, usually not my cup of tea at all but they sound actually useful on paper, no idea about the practice though.

Hmm. Smile

RE: Global Agenda
Yep. Well, turrets and stuff at least.
Don't think they're quite as good as the pet robots you can get in City of Villains though. Wink

RE: Global Agenda
You do need a medic for most things. It can be done without but takes much longer. All classes share the same basic weapons (assault rifle and melee weapon). And so all classes can do reasonable damage.

Each class can also spec a class specific weapon and grenades. The weapons range from long range on recons to healing guns on medics to massive but innacurate suppressive fire of the assault class.

For Robotics they're mostly a defensive unit as they mainly deploy turrents (think shrooms from daoc) and healing stations. They can also control robots if they want to go on the offensive tho.

I had a medic and enjoyed playing him but for the bane of all healing classes in every mmo (The twats who don't play them, never have and never will, and are quite happy to tell you how to do your job.)
