How to level Crafting [Fast/Cheap]
Okay, this is a guide on how to level your Crafts fast and cheap because as you no doubt have guessed it can be time consuming and costly to do this if done wrong.

First up let me explain what the terms im going to use mean.

1. P or [p]: This refers to your craft level or [points]
2. Work Orders: These are jobs given to you by your Profession Master.
3. Proc: This is the term used to explain that your crafted item has attained Noble item status [IE: Better than normal crafts] This happens randomly and doesnt seem to be effected by anything although i've noticed it happens alot more once you level up higher than the item your trying to craft, but its not confirmed.

TABLE OF CONTENTS:

1. INTRODUCTION
2. GETTING STARTED
3. WORK ORDERS
4. WHEN SHOULD I CHANGE TO THE NEXT WORK ORDER?
5. SUMMARY - read this is your scared by the wall of text.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

INTRODUCTION

Right so lets get started, you start at by going to Pandeomonium [the capital city] and you must enter into the Artisan Area [Marked by Green on your map] Here you can access 5 shops with the 5 different professions, and 1 big shop where you can upgrade your gathering skills.

Crafting Professions:

1. Armorsmithing
2. Cooking
3. Alchemy
4. Weaponsmithing
5. Tailoring
6. Handicrafting

Gathering Professions:

1. Aether Extracting [Not considered a Craft Skill]
2. Vitality Extracting [Not considered a Craft Skill]

------------------------------------------------------------------------

GETTING STARTED

Okay, once your in the shop of your desired crafting profession you need to find the Profession Master who is usually directly in front of you as you enter the shop, except for the Weaponsmith and Armorsmith as these 2 NPCS share 1 shop so they are located on the Left and Right of the Shop as you enter.

You will need to pay roughly 3000 kinah to learn the craft profession.

Congratz you just learned a profession.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

WORK ORDERS

Once you've taken your profession you must now increase your [p] to be able to learn craft designs from the SHOP/Special NPCS/MOBS. In order to raise our [p] we must complete work orders set by the Profession Master.

Talk to the Profession Master and select WORK ORDER, when you first start off you will have the 1[p] work order only, take it and go to the Craft Station inside the same build the master is in, there is usually 4-6 stations in each shop, just pick 1. [its best to use the ones next to the profession master as you can position yourself so you can talk to him and craft without moving] as you must be next to a craft station to craft.

So you've taken the first work order, go to the station, open your craft window and there is a drop down menu with [Work Orders] select this and select the 1[p] work order. The Master will give you 4 items, you will need to craft 3/4 items in order to complete the task. [NOTE: Its possible to fail 2 of the 4 crafts or more the first time and you wont be able to complete the Work Order] You will need to abandon the quest by opening your quest log, selecting the Work Orders tab and then clicking Abandon. Take the Work Order again from the NPC and try again.

Once you've completed this Work Order hand it in to get your Mystery Reward, its basically Craft Items for that profession with the chance to get Designs [Recipes]. [READ EXTRA NOTE]

When you have completed enough of these crafts you will notice your level in that profession is increasing. Check the Bar at the top of your Craft Window.

When you reach 10[p] a new Work Order is listed by the Master, dont take this just yet [Explained Below]. You will recieve a new Work Order every 10[p] , a maximum of 4 will be listed, so when you get to 40[p] the Work Order for 1[p] will be removed and replaced by a 40[p] Work Order.

Extra Note: Only Craft the Minimum amount of items required because you get no bonus for crafting all 4. All this does is increase your level faster, but you dont want to do this because each completed Work Order will give you a crafting item used in that profession. Considering the 1[p] Work Orders are free to craft you want to take advantage of this, which is why you will use the 1[p] Work Order till your skill is 40p at which point the 1[p] Work Order will be removed from the List given to you by the Master.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

WHEN SHOULD I CHANGE TO THE NEXT WORK ORDER?

Good question, this one is tricky.. but these are the 2 methods ive found the best.

1. FASTEST.

LEVELS:

0----5----10----15----20----25----30----35----40----45----50 and so on.

WORK ORDERS:

Once your past 10[p] you will get the 10[p] Work Order, now do not try to do this Work Order right away because you will fail more and it will take longer to craft. You need to get some more Levels before you change to the higher Work Orders. There is a simple formula to follow for this and here it is.

[Work Order] = [Skill Level] + [5p]

-- Take the Work Order

[Work Order - 10[p]]

-- Take your Craft Level

[Work Order - 10[p]] = [Skill Level - 10[p]]

-- Add 5[p]

[Work Order - 10[p]] = [Skill Level - 10[p]] + [Additional - 5[p]]

Confused? i imagine you are, so here it is simplified.

Whatever Work Order you are planning on taking next check your current craft level and make sure its +5 above the Work Order before you start to take the Work Orders.

If you have 10p, 20p, 30p, 40p listed as Work Order, then that means you have 40-49 skill level. DO NOT do the 40p Work Order till your craft level is 45.

10p work order = 15p craft
20p work order = 25p craft
30p work order = 35p craft
40p work order = 45p craft

etc.

2. MOST REWARDING/CHEAPEST.

If your new to the game you wont have much money by the time you first enter Pandeomonium so the first option wont be of much use to you, so instead you will want to do the following.

Use the 1[p] Work Orders only crafting 3 or the 4 items you are given and then hand it in get your reward and take it again, do this till your at 40[p] it will take considerably longer but you will get alot of free items you will use for the higher work orders, thus saving you money and by which time you should be higher level and money wont be much of an issue.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

SUMMARY

1. Talk to the Master of the Profession you want to learn.
2. Learn the Skill.
3. Take the first Work Order from the Master.
4. Complete 1[p] Work Orders Craft only the required 3 items, then hand it in to gain more rewards.
5. Continue using 1[p] Work Orders till your 40[p] because then that work order is removed.
6. After you reach 40[p] you need to work on the 30[p] Work Order.
7. Items for these can be purchased from the NPC in the Shop only.
8. Purchase enough items for 11 Crafts, this will usually take you up 10 levels.
9. Dont over purchase.
10. IF a Work Order requires 6 items, you only buy the materials for 6 Items [but enough to do this Work Order 11 times] so that would be 6x11 = 66.
11. Work Order Rewards, Keep these, they will help you later down the line.
12. Rare Recipes, these will be given to you for completing Work Orders, and take it from me some can be Valuable, so dont sell to shop, check Item Broker first.
13. After you reach x5[p] you can move up to the next Work Order.

Example:

Work Order 40[p] you should have 45[p] before you start working on it.
Work Order 50[p] you should have 55[p] before you start working on it.

and so on!

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Any Question, please ask and i'll add the answers to the Guide.

Another point to mention is that you can morph substances using aether and DP points. You have to do that via your skill tab - go to the crafting page and right click on the morph substances icon. I believe (although I may be wrong because I was only playing with it last night) that you get more morphable items unlocked the higher your aether extraction skill gets. At first you can morph to iron ore, azpha and pujery iirc. Much easier way to get mats than going to farm them when you're in the middle of crafting stuff. Eventually you can deconstruct a high level flux into several lower level ones using morphing.

At least some of the morph recipes apparently come from the fortress shops, so we'll have to take one at some point. Smile
