Ste - Founder

Ste Yes im the one to thank/blame for starting the RS and RSA, although it was largly influenced by FNM. RS was started after seeing my previous guild (FNM) gutted by the greed and selfishness of a 'Swedish super guild'. I then decided to try and create a guild that could match the 'super guilds' but without any of the nonsense that went with them (i.e. racism, predjudices against play types e.g. pve or rvr, RR levels or even classes etc), and an open/transparent officer GM rank structure. Anyone in RS can rise from new recruit to officer, with a bit of hard work, and even to GM with a lot of dedication and an ability to lead.
Now I know im not the best GM out there, nor am I the most organised, nor the best raid leader, nor am I what can be considered a 'people person'. What I am good at though is seeing these qualitys in others and allowing or getting them to do the work for me through a combination of flattery, sweet talking and bullying. I am also very single minded in what I want for the guild and the standards I expect of my members and more especially my officers. I will make the hard decisions that often need making in large organisations (even if I get them wrong). Everyone knows I treat no-one with favourtism and will promote anyone to officer status if I feel it will benefit the guild. I will not allow myself nor any RS member be bullied by anyone, nor will I allow any guild/alliance to dictate how we should play the game. I have probably put more hours into running/looking out for the intersts of RS and the RSA (this includes web building, light forum modding and developing a UI) than any other GM in the game, at the expense of actually playing the game as a game, and gladly so as I have been paid back a hundred fold. Having said that I also ackowledge that RS wouldn't have completed 10% of what it has without equally dedicated officers (of which some have now replaced me as GM). I have made many enemies by leading RS but I have also made many, many, more friends. I currently reside as the 'grandad' figure of the guilds whilst the younger, hungrier people run the guilds/alliance, whilst ignoring my sage words of wisdom (aka me harking on about the good old days) Yes I am now resting on my laurels (whatever that means).
RL - nothing to say really. I get paid to be bored, and moaned at, for 40+ hours a week working (in the loosest sense of the word) as an engineer working on jobs that were a rush job 3 months ago.

Phil - Co-Founder

Phil Well, my story is known by most of the oldies anyway but I'll re-cap. I've played DAoC since day one. My first character was a fire wizard called Fentalmucker BrazyCastard who's named lasted a whole three days before GOA changed it and I got a not-so-friendly email telling me why :-D I then moved onto a minstrel called Rubber Johnny, who I had to rename Rubber Wellies :-/ Since then I've taken a few month breaks but pretty much been playing non-stop and so have about fifty or sixty alts, around half of which are level 50s. I always like to have something up-and-coming and never concentrate too much on one character. I used to spend about 80% of my time on Excal in the BGs as they were most fun - never liked RvR on the clustered servers much. Gone from being guildness to GC High Counsellor of Knights of the Round Table (a GM essentially) on Alb/Prydwen, GM of RS Prydwen, Officer, Lord, then GM of RS Excal, then GM of RS Glasonbury, with a four month internship as GM of FoN on Hib/Glast and that alliance also, which got gutted and robbed by an ex-Officer from FoN who I promoted to GM in my absence and thus collapsed. Seen just about everything on every realm there is to see. Now happily playing on Glast as a Paladin and Minstrel in high end RvR and loving it.
My working life reflects my gaming life frankly: I've been a teamleader for an IT Support Desk, managed a retail outlet like HMV, been a landscape gardener, worked for the government, been a pub Landlord, and now I've just started out in the cable/optics fitting business with some enthusiasm!

Joel aka Aereth - High Ranking Member

Aereth Started playing autumn 2002, when a friend introduced me to the game when we both were unemployed and I spent loads of time at her place. Wanted to go hib initially, but she convinced me to go mid as she were playing there and said she could fix me into her guild, New World Order.
So I bought the game rolled mid, but as it turned out she couldn't get me into the guild. To top it of she quit the game just a few months after that.
A few days later I joined The Dark Alliance. It didn't feel completely right, so me and a troll named Koarn though "How hard can it be? Let's start our own guild! If nothing else we get rid of this ugleh fu*k emble!" Said and done the guild Faith No More was born. Met up with Ste short after that, and the crumble of FNM and starting of RS can be read in the RS story.
Have had a few breaks now and then, longest one about 8 months where 4 was spent in SE Asia. ^^
Got sick of ToA and went to hib when the classic server launched. Didn't last very long and came back to mid/exc. One night Ste asked for help starting RS on Glast and I offered my help and got stuck with a few of the otheres helping out and never looked back. ^^
In real life I'm studying Stage and Preformance Technology at uni. It's basicly sound & light engineering and building stages and stuff of that nature. I also beat the crap out of my drums every now and then, and fiddle around with some music at home aswell.

Andy aka Treyguard - High Ranking Member

Trey I joined Red Shadows in Midgard when I was a little low level runemaster, along with much of the rest my old guild, Darkspawn Ravens, which folded. Over the next years I managed to get two characters to level 50, scaled the giddy heights of officer-ship and have dragged the guild and alliance, at times in great numbers, down a wide variety of dark and deadly places in an effort to ensure evil is slain and big raid type fun is had. Almost all the assorted terrors have been dealt with, from Trollheim to Darkness Falls, Atlantis to the Tuscaren Glacier and Odin's Gate to Iarnwood, but some yet remain...
In real life I work for a games company, helping to keep the noobs in line, the scammers/assorted riffraff at bay and ensuring fun spreads throughout the world unimpeded. Or something like that, anyway.

Peter aka Goorg - High Ranking Member

Goorg Started to play daoc in the fall 2003 on my brothers(Lendamos) account. It was a troll zerker called Brorsan (brother in swedish). At x-mas 2003 i got my own daoc from Lendamos and started a new troll zerker called Goorg. Goorg is btw the sound of a full grown troll that by misstake sits down on a kobbie. Lvled up Goorg to lvl 50 in about 2 weeks and finaly at 5 am 1 morning i dinged him 50 in old Dodens. Since im an old man with bad memory i decided to call all my toons Goorg something.
In the spring of 2004 when RS reorganised the ranks i aplied to be an officer. Was officer for some months move to lord rank when starting to have house fond raids for the new guild house. Became Gm in summer of 2005 when we went from 1 gm to 3 gms. Now im running RS guild and alliance on mid excal together with Olvoair.
I like to play both pve and rvr. Have so far in my daocing game never had to set any1 on ignore list I also think its fun to help other peeps in game and like to run raids of all kind.
In RL im a 42 year old troll who works as a substitute teacher. Lives alone (seems like RL girls dont like trolls ). Im very sports intressded and im very involved in a sport called Floorball. I live in a small fishing village outside Varberg in sweden.

Mark aka Sye - High Ranking Member

Sye I first joined Red Shadows when they were active on Prywen/Albion with just a select few members. I stayed on Albion for over a year then joined Red Shadows on Midgard. From there i managed to level several 50's. In doing so i climbed up the Guild ranks to Rank 1 - Shadow Lord. I've ran 10 successful Dragon Raids within the alliance and many other raids including Tuscaren Glacier. I'm now playing mostly on Classic with Red Shadows but from time to time visit the cluster servers. In real life i work in the IT department of a builders merchants. I provide support for over 300 users on a linux, unix, windows, and custom software package. I also deal with hardware aspects of PCs, Servers and other computer related products. I play DAOC as a casual player when ever i get some spare time.

Ian aka Beeg - Guild Officer

Beeg I always used to play fps games then a good friend of mine (shallya) talked me into trying this damned game daoc… It then destroyed my social life for the next 4 odd years. We started in the beginning, a group of RL friends and some online scots from playing quake2 jalibreak. We scrimpted and saved all possible cash and then finally, beeg, shallya, ripvan, deechio, whipped, suel, kalk etc formed the legendary group of misfits called the ‘Carnie Folk’. We mainly grouped together but tried to mix with the rest of the daoc community. Eventually we decided 90 % of the daoc community where absolute donkeys! So we tightened up more then a Scots man’s wee pennie pooch. We then mainly hung around together until fro and eitta joined us about 2 years in and slowly opened the borders to an up and coming guild called Red Shadows. After a while we decided to merge into Red Shadows after some of the CF core left the game.
I have enjoyed the past few years and met some very sound helpful people in RS. I have tried to be helpful to people and run raids when I can. I hope that I have helped people in game and via forum advice, I enjoy trying to max the output of a class through templates/specs etc. I am mainly RVR orientated and have a rr10 skald, 9.8 healer, and a new sorc that I am enjoying playing a lot. If it was not for the mass migration of RS to glast I think I would have quit by now, but it has produced a fresh angle on the game for me.
In RL I definitely enjoy a drink and seeing my friends. I work in IT… but the morons I deal with on a daily basis are slowly sucking away any humanity I have towards this line of work and so I feel a possible life change and career on the breeze.

Neil aka Frodoe - Guild Officer

Frodoe When i first started to play daoc i was in the guild New World Order with my first char Tinytoddler.I then started what i thought was going to be a healer but i was a noob and made a kobbie not realising Kobbies couldn't be healers !! so i ended up with 2 shamans ^^ and at this point i met a grp of ppl my lvl and they were a great bunch of ppl who bt the end of the night asked me if i wanted to join there guild which i did and the guild was Carnie Folk. After a while in Carnie folk i decided to look for pastures new and this is when i found Red Shadows.I worked my way up through the ranks and became a warlord. When Toa came out the aim of me and Eita were to run ML's and to get the guild and /as from ML1 to ML10 we managed to finish ML8 1 night after about 8 hrs playtime trying to do it. At this point i was getting a little tense with the game and decided to have a break. After a years break back i came then ste asked if some ppl would help make Red Shadows on glastonbury and i have been there ever since.
Real life im a multi millionaire in my dreams but work for a building company which designs and builds as a whole package. I have to work exceptionally hard to keep eita in the life of luxury that she wants.

Vicky aka Eita - Guild Officer

Eita My first guild was Carnie Folk our guild master was Legit i joined RS to be with Frodoe. When TOA came out we decided to run MLs to try get the guild and alliance to ML10 doing these was great fun, i cameover to Alb to help Ste form RS and stayed.
In real life i have been breaking horses in and schooling them and took a city& guild in Horticulture.

Jamie aka Marlybone - Guild Officer

Marlybone I joined red shadows after my first guild darkspawn ravens folded during the password fiasco!
I started playing daoc after being premeturly retired...due 2 a rather nasty hit and run incident whilst working away with my job as an electrician. It is almost 5 years now since my unfortunate incident and i have become a huge fan of daoc and met some great people

Kim aka Kimkasper - Alliance High Ranking Member

Kim When I joined Aquamarine it was a large and growing guild. It was in the old times when there were many new players every day, and a lot of questions being asked all the time. As it grew bigger and bigger, I helped the officers answering some of the questions to ease their load, and soon I found myself promoted to Officer. After long time of glory and greatness, came the bitter and cold reminder that nothing lasts forever, when our old alliance fell to the great decline of Atlantis. Our Master, Undead, had to leave and promoted me and Tor to take over and lead the already sinking ship. There were times we barely had our head above water, but now the ship is in excellent condition and the crew and I are leading it to new adventures.
In real life I play the drums, trying to enjoy life and it's pleasures in it's uphills and downhills.

Magne aka Rolv - Alliance High Ranking Member

Rolv When I started playing DAoC my older brother (Kimkasper) had been playing some months already, and was a memeber of Aquamarine. Back then Aquamarine was a very large guild and it didnt take long before I also got asked to join the gang. Since I wanted to walk my own steps and also wanted to check out other guilds I declined, and joined The Dark Alliance some weeks later. I was level 39 when I joined TDA, so had been playing some months and spent some weeks in Caledonia, but I was still of course a noob. I never felt I belonged in TDA, but it took over a year before I desided to quit, and rather join Aquamarine. I dont know why it took so long before I quit TDA, but I think it was some feeling of loyalty for my first guild that stopped me. Now I've been in Aquamarine for a couple of years and I couldnt be more happy about it, it seems to survive forever even when DAoC is in very inactive periods, or when something crazy happens. The friendship I got in Aquamarine, and also with people in RSA, really is the main reason I never feel like quitting DAoC.
In real life im taking a leader education in the army, if everything goes well it will take about 2 years. I also play the guitar.

Vitor aka Septima - Alliance High Ranking Member

Rolv The first hour, just after TOA released (yes i'm a Newb ) i rolled a thane (DrSato) in excalibur with a rl friend (snakecharmer) we got both invited in a liddul guild called Dark Age of Midgard by a weird sweede who was playing at that time a shammy called Smorblomma (my bb now since he quitted). The guild had no 50's at the time and i think snake with his skald (first agata) was our first 50, followed by my thane. The guild unfortunatly lost its GM's, me and snake became Gm's of it plus some others. We spent really funny moments all together.
In real life i'm finishing my PhD in chemistry, one of the reasons (women are the other reason ) i'm only playing as casual atm and focusing more in rvr than pve.
